It's the little things

It's always impressed me that from a very young age you would respond to "clap your hands" by actually doing it. I realise that you never really understood what we we asking but had figured out that when you heard us make certain sounds and did a certain action, we'd praise you.

For a few weeks I've been asking you "Where's Gracie's nose" and touching your nose; "Where's Nick's nose" and touching my nose. The first time I asked you where your nose was and you touched it, I got a buzz. When I asked you where my nose was and you touched that as well, I was blown away. You didn't start off by mixing up whose nose you were supposed to point at - I guess you'd already figured out who was Grace and who was Nick.

Not long now until you're understanding more complex requests. I hope you're just as cooperative when we ask "Please put down the knife" and "Stop putting toys in the toilet".
