Sleep?
Yesterday was the 1st of the month and I had the company billing to do. Normally I can run this from midnight till about 5am and then grab some sleep. This time I was up till 11am babysitting it. Well, from about 8am till 11am was mostly just waiting for stuff to finish and writing up a report but I still had to be awake.
Have you ever lived in an apartment where the wind whips past your not-quite-flush front door? Well I do and I'll let you in on a little secret - a rattling door is a great way to break concentration. In the end I resorted to using Blu Tack™ to keep it in place. Oh Blu Tack™, is there anything you can't do?
When I was finally done with billing I watched some CSI; I'm really not sure why. I'd downloaded the 2 hour season finale, which on USA broadcast TV means the running time was 1 hour 22 minutes. I managed to get about 30 minutes in before realising that my eyes were closed and perhaps I should be in bed.
Four hours later I was pulled from my slumber by a ringing phone. After realising that I wasn't at work and had been sleeping, the caller apologised and said I should go back to sleep. Well that's all well and good but you've already woken me up, you might as well go ahead and tell me what you're calling for. Couldn't get back to the sleep after that call either. <sigh>
