Project finished

Last year I did a course at the New Zealand Institue of Management.

There was a project and a whole lot of other stuff to hand in on 04-Mar-2005 but I never really got round to doing that and ended up getting shifted to the 2nd batch of presentations which were due on 07-Jul-2005.

The project itself was more or less complete at the start of the month but needed fleshing out a bit. It'd been in this state since February really. Ok, so maybe it was a bit more on the 'less' side of 'more or less' than the 'more' side. The other material, basically evidence from work that showed I'd been applying what I learnt on the course day to day, was mostly complete but the bits that were missing were proving hard to come up with.

I'd been getting my shit together over the last few weeks and wrote an extra 10,000 words or so to support the project and my evidence to prove I had been taking in what they were teaching. 10,000 words doesn't sound like a lot but when it involves about an hour of going over notes and searching emails/documentation to find something to support 2 paragraphs, well the time certainly does add up. It doesn't help that every few hours I'd stop and play some World of Warcraft either :)

Anyway, it's finished, handed in, complete, no more. Well I hope that's all. If they find holes in the work then I'll get a call and have to go in for an 'interview' to go over what I've missed and prove that I did know it all along. Fuck I hope it doesn't come to that.

I dropped in into the office last Monday and immediately went and bought myself a Bose SoundDock for my ipod as a reward:
It's basically a huge speaker for the ipod.

Fuck me this sounds really good. I just wish I could plug it into the laptop at work.

I'm undecided wether to leave this at work or take it home. I don't really need it at home but I don't really need it at work either. That's kinda the point though - I did need to reward myself for getting this weight on my back removed and if I'd got something I was needing, then that's not a proper reward is it. Kinda like getting a pair of socks for Christmas.

If I leave it at work people can see it and be jealous. I guess at work is where it will stay for now then :)
