Podcasts aren't all bad after all

On the way to and from work I used to listen to a few select songs on the old iPod. Mostly Bowling for Soup, David Wilcox and William Shatner's Has Been. I'd occasionally queue up some new album that I thought might be good but seldom bothered to listen to the whole thing. Now I listen to a bunch of podcasts each day. Most are never revisited but there are some that I'm keeping on the playlist for now.
Most of them clock in at between 45 and 60 minutes which is a little long seeing it only take me 15 minutes to get to and from work and that's if I stop off at the dairy. I keep listening while pottering round the house but round the 30-35 minute mark, I zone out and pick up the track the next morning. Maybe if I had a longer commute or something then the show duration would be sweet but, hey, I've only got a limited attention span - unless I'm playing WoW and then hours can go by without me noticing.

I even still download Nobody Likes Onions although now that they are doing 2 shows a week I don't think I'll listen to both. These guys aren't as funny as they think they are but it's interesting to hear what they think is funny. The segment in episode 10 called "Bad Podcast of the week" on "MacMatters" was actually pretty funny and detailed exactly what I think is so wrong with so many of the podcasts out there. So I donated $10 to Patrick on the "Help send us to the Portable Media Expo" link. I must be in a good mood today. Must be the Burton Hollis Premium Coffee that I've been pouring down my throat. Mmmmmm
